The Wits-TUB-UNILAG Urban Lab Programme is awarded to scholars from across the sub-continent to partake in the Master of Urban Studies in the field of Urban Management at Wits as well as PhD studies at both Wits and UNILAG.

The Wits-TUB-UNILAG Urban Lab programme is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) from 2016 to 2020. An extension of the programme has been granted from 2021 to 2025.  

Application Deadlines: The due date to apply for the scholarship is 30th September 2022. The due date to apply to the Master of Urban Studies (MUS) in the field of Urban Management (UM) is 31st July 2022.

Value of Award: The masters scholarship covers the duration of one academic year. The scholarship includes:

• Full tuition fee
• Monthly stipend covering living expenses
• Travel from home country/ place of origin
• Student medical aid (12 months)

Eligibility:

• Applicants must be from sub-Saharan African countries other than South Africa.
• Applicants must be proficient in English Language
