The Students’ Union frowns at the inflated economy of Nigeria, considering the challenges it poses in ensuring a balanced learning experience.

Following the recent increase in pricing of fuel, we observed the buses plying the University route from Post Office outrageously increased the transportation fare to N800, without prior notification.

As an active Union of Students, together with the efforts of the Student Affairs leadership, we summoned a productive meeting with the leadership of these buses and successfully negotiated a fare reduction to maintain N500 as an unavoidable transportation fare, striking a fair balance between both parties while considering the current economic situation.

We strongly advise our colleagues not to exceed this agreed price when boarding buses on this route as we pledge to ensure fare reductions when the economic situation improves.
