The silence was finally broken yesterday after the UNN Vice-chancellor Professor Bartho Okolo came out to say that the level of development he brought to the school has vindicated him.

The Vice-Chancellor in an interview stated that this was an effort by those who envy his sit (power brokers within and outside the institution who believe it is high time their kinsman assumed the office of vice-chancellor of UNN) and those whom he has stopped from selling handouts and substandard text book.

He further stated that the schools property in Lagos which he bought for N480m now has a possible worth of N800 million and yields a profit of N2 billion per year which is used in the development of the school,even Chief Olusegun Obasanjo attested to this by asking me if i also channel my efforts to scholarships and not only infrastructure, on his visit.

On infrastructure he stated that he has gone far in the development of the school by building of 19 hostels, school buildings and others.He disclosed that N1.3b post-graduate school building construction money was generated from the post-graduate school and was utilized judiciously.
