Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, has announced the appointment of Professor Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie as its new substantive Vice-Chancellor, effective November 18, 2025.

The appointment was approved by the University’s Governing Council during its meeting on November 16, 2025, granting Professor Anyaehie a single five-year tenure.

Professor Anyaehie, a distinguished professor of Physiology and Clinical Measurements, will assume office from Professor (Dame) Carol Chinyelugo Arinze-Umobi, who has been serving as Acting Vice-Chancellor.

The announcement was made by the Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, Njelita Louis O.
