The leadership of the University of Ibadan Students' Union has announced the suspension of all academic activities following the deteriorating conditions on campus caused by the ongoing SSANU and NASU industrial action.
According to the Union, the situation within the university has become increasingly unbearable, with students facing a total blackout, lack of water supply, and the closure of the University Health Centre.

"As it stands, the living conditions in our halls of residence and across campus have become unbearable. The environment is no longer conducive for human habitation, let alone academic excellence," the statement read.
In response to these challenges, the Union declared that all academic activities, including classes and tests, are suspended until further notice.
The Union emphasized that it is unrealistic to expect students to continue academic work under such harsh conditions, urging collective action to address the crisis.
Emergency Congress Details:
Students have been encouraged to attend the congress, remain peaceful, and participate actively in discussions that will determine the next steps in advocating for improved campus conditions.
Signed:
Temidayo S. Adeboye — President
Joshua O. Shontan — General Secretary

All correspondence should be directed to the Office of the General Secretary.
