The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) of the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State has divulged that dissatisfied persons are planning to cause trouble over the appointment of a new vice-chancellor in the institution.

While urging such persons to follow the line of peace, Chairperson of SSANU, UNIUYO chapter, Mrs Anietie Atai on Sunday restated that such plot to instigate unnecessary issues in the university will not be tolerated.

She remarked that the appointment of the new Vice-Chancellor was based on the decision of the governing council and have been unanimously accepted. The Chairperson further called for cooperation in order to foster the peace that was being enjoyed in the university.

Mrs Atai commended the Pro-chancellor and Chairman of the governing council, Prof. Austin Awoju on a job well done and maintained that the union followed due processes in the emergence of the new Vice-Chancellor.

Recall that, the institution had on Tuesday announced the emergence of Prof. Nyaudoh Ndaeyo as the 8th Vice-Chancellor of the institution.
