The University of Benin, Benin City, has released an important update on hostel accommodation for the 2025/2026 academic session. According to the Students News Bulletin dated December 4, 2025, the activation of the “fastest finger” process for securing bed spaces will open on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 5:00 pm.

The Dean of Students, Professor Frederick Osaro Ekhaise, advised all interested students to take note of the scheduled time to avoid missing out. He emphasized that any allocated bed space not cleared within two days will be retrieved.

The bulletin also reiterated the University’s strict prohibition against bringing electrical appliances such as hot plates, microwaves, washing machines, electric kettles, and gas cookers into the hostels. Violators risk rustication or expulsion.

Students are urged to comply fully with the guidelines to ensure a smooth accommodation process.
