The Kogi state Police Commissioner, Sai’du Madawaki recently arrested some students of the Kogi State University for robbery.

According to him, the suspects who were alleged to be cultists had gone to rob an occupant of a white house phase 11 lodge in Ayingba when the police received a tip off an acted immediately.

A gun battle ensued between the police and the robbers which led to the death of one of the robbers, Rumba Menebe, who was said to be a student of the Kogi state University and a son of a prominent professor in the institution.

In a similar development, Babatunde Obaniro, a 23-year old Mechanical Engineering student of the same institution was nabbed for burglary.

According to police source, the suspects will soon be charged to court.
