Value of Award: This is a full 3.5 year PhD studentship funded by the School of Geography as part of their support for the UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship held by Dr. Katie McQuaid

Eligibility: To be eligible, you must;

  • have at least a first class or an upper second class British Bachelors Honours degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate discipline.
  • advised to check with the relevant School prior to making an application.
  • have a Masters degree in Anthropology, Social Geography, Gender and/or Development Studies.

Application Process: Formal applications for research degree study should be made online through the University’s website . Please state clearly in the research information section that the research degree you wish to be considered for is a PhD in Geography mentioning the ‘PhD in Gender, Sexuality and Climate Change in the Global South’ in the application form as well as Dr. Katie McQuaid as your proposed supervisor.

Please submit a short research proposal (500 words maximum) which outlines your idea for a doctoral research project, including: title, fieldwork location and rationale, key research question, aims and objectives, methodology, and originality and significance of the topic.
