FCE Technical, Asaba sacked worker accuses management of corruption

Mr Joseph alleged that he was sacked after he refused to give in to the demands of management to falsify records and divert funds meant for school projects. He added that his failure to further grant illegal variations and payments outside contract conditions where the contractor had been overpaid with over N70m for no service rendered led to the termination of his appointment.

He revealed that the case was in court, accused the provost, Dr Anene Okeakwa of a threat to deliberately prolong the process until the expiration of her tenure. Reacting to this, the institution admitted that some management staff were invited by the ICPC on accounts of alleged corruption, but insisted that the Institution’s provost was not invited because the alleged corruption did not happen during her tenure. They, however, claimed that Mr Joseph was laid off after he was found guilty of several offences.
