Students are encouraged to resume promptly as academic activities will commence immediately. Find attached, the Academic Calendar for the 2021/2022 Session.

2) ALLOCATION OF HOSTELS

Hostel allocation has been automated. As soon as at least 40% of the fees is paid, the

block and room number are automatically generated. Students should, please, see this

as an improvement on the previous laborious manual mode of allocation. We appeal to

parents and students to support this development by showing the needed understanding.

3) UNIVERSITY RULES AND REGULATIONS

The University will continue to enforce the rules and regulations guiding students conduct as this is necessary to inculcate discipline and preserve the sanctity of our collective well-being. Students are encouraged to intimately familiarize themselves with the rules and regulations of the University, especially the regulations on the acceptable conduct and mode of dressing. Male students should note that they will no longer be allowed to leave the hostel and walk around the University campus at any time of the day in shorts.

5) UNIVERSITY PROPERTY

Henceforth, students involved in any intentional act leading to the damage of the University property will be asked to replace the damaged item immediately. Students  are therefore advised to handle University property in their rooms with utmost care.

6) COVID – 19 PANDEMIC

The University will continue to improve measures that will safeguard the health and well-being of students. In the light of this, the University will continue to encourage adherence to the non-pharmaceutical guidelines of the Covid-19 Pandemic Protocols when and where such is necessary. On the part of the students, they are still expected  to resume with at least five (5) pieces of washable nose mask and hand sanitizer.

7) MAINTAINING NEAT AND HYGIENIC HOSTEL ENVIRONMENT

The University places high value on the maintenance of neat and hygienic environment. Students are, therefore, expected to ensure that the hostel environment is not littered  and their rooms, bathrooms and toilets are clean from time to time. Unscheduled visits will be carried out fortnightly by a team led by the Hall Master/Hall Mistress to inspect  students’ rooms.

8) ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES

Students are reminded that the only electrical appliances permitted in the students’ hostels are pressing iron and electric kettle of voltage that is not more than 1.5kw.  Use of high-voltage appliances is prohibited in students’ rooms and such items will be  confiscated and forfeited if they are found with any student.

9) COURTESY AND CIVILITY IN DEALING WITH FELLOW STUDENTS

Students are expected to show courtesy and high-level of consideration when dealing with their roommates. Any student that exhibits behaviour that could be considered  physically or emotionally injurious to his/her roommate may be ejected from the hostel.

10) ITEMS FOR PERSONAL USE

For personal comfort and use, students are expected to resume with the following items:

i) Window curtain – A pair

ii) A Pillow with 2 Pillow cases

iii) Bed Spread – 2 pieces

iv) 1 Toilet Brush

v) 1 Mopping Stick

vi) Toilet Washing Liquid Soap

11) CONCLUSION

Students are to note that upon arrival on campus, they will be checked at the main gate after which they are to report at the University Health Centre. Students will only be  admitted into the hostels on the presentation of a medical clearance duly signed by the  Medical Director, University Health Centre.

On behalf of the Vice-Chancellor and other staff of the University, I wish you journey mercy back to campus.

With kind regards,

Signed

Ademola Ipenko

Acting Director, Directorate of Students Services and Support
