25-year-old Najib Umar Shehu, a 300-level student of the Federal University, Dutsinma (FUDMA) who killed his stepmother over the failure of his parent's marriage has been paraded by the Katsina state police command.

The student who is said to be the last child in the family killed the deceased, Asiya Mohammed whom he blamed for the end of his parent's marriage with a pestle and broke his father's leg with the same pestle when he tried to intervene. Catch up on the full story here

A statement issued by the state's police spokesperson, SP Isah Gambo, said Najeeb has been arrested and confessed to the crime. He added that the said pestle has been recovered as an exhibit and investigations are ongoing.
