The School of Postgraduate Studies at PAMO University of Medical Sciences (PUMS) has officially announced the commencement of the sale of application forms for its postgraduate programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The university, known for its excellence in medical education, is offering advanced degrees in the Faculties of Basic Medical Sciences and Allied Health Sciences.

AVAILABLE PROGRAMMES & SPECIALIZATIONS
1. Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences
Department of Biochemistry: MSc and PhD
Specializations: Clinical, Toxicological, and Nutritional Biochemistry.
Department of Physiology: MSc and PhD
Specializations (PhD only): Cardiopulmonary, Environmental, Reproductive Endocrinology, Neurophysiology, Exercise, Sleep, and Blood Physiology.
Department of Anatomy: MSc
Specializations: Anthropometric and Forensic, Microscopic, Developmental Anatomy, and Neuroanatomy/Neurosciences.
2. Faculty of Allied Health Sciences
Medical Laboratory Science (MLS): PGD, MSc, and PhD
Specializations: Haematology & Blood Transfusion, Histopathology & Cytology, Medical Microbiology & Parasitology, and Immunology.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Postgraduate Diploma (PGD): Open to BMLS graduates with a Third Class grade from approved universities. Applicants must be registered with the MLSCN.
Master’s Degree (MSc): Applicants must hold a relevant Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of Second-Class Lower Division or a CGPA of 3.00/5.00 for PGD holders. Candidates with FMLSCN qualifications may apply for MLS programmes.
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD): Applicants must possess a Master’s degree in the proposed field with a minimum CGPA of 3.5 on a 5-point scale.
DURATION OF PROGRAMMES
PGD: 2 to 3 Semesters.
MSc: 3 to 5 Semesters.
PhD: 6 to 9 Semesters.
APPLICATION TIMELINE & PROCEDURE
The university has outlined a strict timeline for the 2025/2026 intake:
Form Sales Open: 24th November 2025
Application Deadline: 7th January 2026
Submission Deadline: 11th January 2026
Transcript Submission: Both hard and soft copies must reach the Secretary of the School of Postgraduate Studies by 11th January 2026. Official electronic transcripts should be sent from institutional emails to spgs@pums.edu.ng.
Submission Requirements:
MSc Applicants: Must upload a one-page Synopsis of their previous degree research.
PhD Applicants: Must upload a Thesis Proposal (maximum 5 pages) and may be invited for a proposal defense on a scheduled date.
