The Nigerian Women Association of Georgia (NWAG), USA, has officially opened applications for its 2026 Scholarship Awards. The organization plans to award 111 one-time scholarships to female undergraduate students currently enrolled in Nigerian universities.

Award Categories & Distribution

The scholarships will be distributed across the country, with three awards allocated per State of Origin, as well as three for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

• Winner: Three Hundred U.S. Dollars ($300)
• 1st Runner-up: One Hundred and Fifty U.S. Dollars ($150)
• 2nd Runner-up: One Hundred U.S. Dollars ($100)

Note: All awards will be disbursed in the Naira equivalent.

Eligibility Requirements

• Must be a female undergraduate student in a Nigerian University.
• Not open to final-year students.

Application Documents

Interested applicants must submit the following documents along with their completed application form:

• Proof of State of Origin: A letter of origination from the university or from a local government office.
• Two Letters of Recommendation: From any two of the following: Pastor/Imam, Village Head, Local Government Chairperson, or University Lecturer/Head of Department.
• Academic Recommendation: One letter of recommendation from the Dean of Faculty or School Head of Department.
• Identification: Photocopy of current University student ID card.
• Photography: A current passport photograph.
• Personal Statement: An explanation (not more than half a typed page) on why you need and should receive the scholarship.
• Essay Submission: A two-page, double-spaced, type-written essay on the specified topic.

Essay Topic & AI Policy

Topic: "How can Nigeria harness renewable energy and sustainable practices to create jobs and drive economic growth?"

Important: Applicants may use AI tools for up to 25% of their essay submission. The remaining 75% must reflect original ideas and voice. Excessive AI use may result in disqualification.
