The Governing Council of Niger Delta University, Wilberforce Island, Bayelsa State wishes to inform the University Community and the general public of the appointment of Prof. Allen Aziba-Odumosi Agih as the Substantive Vice-Chancellor of the University.

This is sequel to the approval by the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State and Visitor to the University of the recommendation of the joint Council/State Selection Committee.

The Appointment is for a single term of five (5) years and take effect from June 19th 2023.

Prof. Allen Aziba-Odumosi Agih a Professor of Educational Management joined the University in 2022 as an Assistant Lecturer. Growing through the ranks to a Professor in 2017 he has held various positions in the University prominently; as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Adminstration) 2021-2023, DepuyD Vice-Chancellor (Academics) 2019-2021, Director, Advancement and Linkages Centre (2012-2019), Ag. HOD Educational Foundations 2012-2013 and Hall Warden 2011-2013.

Leveraging on these experiences and his personal attributes of humility, dedication and discipline, the school management is convinced that he will steer the University masterfully to achieve its set objectives.
