The Kick Against Laxity Foundation is pleased to announce its latest initiative aimed at promoting youth engagement and intellectual development among young Nigerians. The Foundation has launched an Essay Writing Contest under the theme “Environment and Identity: How Where We Grow Shapes Who We Become.”
This contest offers an opportunity for young Nigerians to reflect on the significant influence of their environment—both physical and social—on personal identity, behavior, and aspirations.

Eligibility
The competition is open to all Nigerians between the ages of 15 and 29. Participants from all regions and backgrounds are encouraged to submit their entries and share their unique perspectives.
Essay Theme
Participants are to write on the theme: “Environment and Identity: How Where We Grow Shapes Who We Become.” Essays should explore the relationship between upbringing, societal surroundings, and the formation of personal values and identity.
Prizes
Attractive cash prizes will be awarded to the top three winners:
- First Prize: ₦30,000
- Second Prize: ₦20,000
- Third Prize: ₦10,000
