The Students’ Representative Assembly (SRA) of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBUL), Lapai, has issued a strong warning to students over the persistent and unauthorized resale of university hostel bed spaces.
In a statement dated January 12, 2026, the Assembly condemned the illegal practice, describing it as a serious violation of university regulations that threatens fair access to on-campus accommodation. The notice emphasized that some students have been involved in reselling allocated bed spaces to others without approval from the appropriate authorities.

According to the SRA, the directive serves as a final warning to all students to immediately desist from engaging in the resale of hostel bed spaces. The Assembly made it clear that any student found culpable will face serious disciplinary actions in line with the university’s rules.
The statement was jointly signed by the Speaker of the Students’ Representative Assembly, Rt. Hon. Salihu Abdullahi, and the Senate Clerk, Sen. Mohammed Abubakar.
The SRA urged students to comply fully with accommodation guidelines and report any suspected cases of illegal bed space resale to ensure fairness and order within the university hostel system.
