The Gombe State Government, through the Scholarship Board, has announced the commencement of a Physical Verification Exercise for students under the state scholarship programme.

According to the statement signed by Shuaibu Gidado, Director/Executive Secretary of the board, the exercise was approved by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Gombe State, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya (Dan Majen Gombe), and is aimed at ensuring proper documentation and confirmation of eligible beneficiaries.

The verification exercise is scheduled to begin on Monday, 20th October 2025. However, due to the ongoing ASSU strike, the process will be conducted as follows:

1. Students currently at home are to report to the Gombe State Scholarship Board.

2. University students are to wait for the screening team to visit their respective institutions after the strike.

3. The verification will hold daily, including Saturdays, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Gombe State Scholarship Board.

All concerned students are required to appear in person with the following original documents:

Scholarship printout

Admission letter

Latest school fees receipt

Local government indigene certificate

Valid school identity card

Students are advised to be punctual and comply fully with all verification procedures.

The board also directed all GOSSA Local Chapters to liaise directly with the GOSSA National Secretariat for coordination and further clarification.
