The Governing Council of Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK) led by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Col. Abdulmumini Aminu, (Rtd.), has approved the promotion of 2 academic staff to the rank of Professor and 2 to the rank of Reader.

The promotions, considered at the Council's 31st meeting, was sequel to the recommendations of External Assessors as well as that of the Senior Staff Appointment and Promotion Committee (SSAPC).

The newly appointed Professors are: Dr. Junaidu Bello Marshal (Corporate and ICT Laws) and Dr. Aisha Nana Adamu (Obstetrics and Gynecology), while the new Readers are Dr. Taslim Olatunde Lawal (Pediatric) and Dr. Ola-Buraimo Abdulrazaq Olatunji (Sedimentology).

Prof. Junaidu Bello Marshal is the current Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice in Kebbi State and has distinguished himself through professional and administrative engagements, particulalry in the areas of corporate and ICT laws.

Prof. Aisha Nana Adamu, on the other hand, is a Fellow of the West of African College of Surgeons. She has contributed significantly in contemporary Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Federal Teaching Hospital Birnin Kebbi, the University's Hospital campus.

Similarly, the Council, approved the promotions of 25 academic staff to the rank of Senior Lecturer and 5 Senior non-teaching staff to the ranks of Deputy Bursar, Deputy Director, Medical Laboratory Services and Principal Assistant Registrar.

The promotions are with effect from January 1, 2026.

Council enjoins the promoted personnel to continue with their good services to the University and humanity in general.
