The federal government has appointed a Professor of Islamic Studies, Rafiu Adebayo, as the Provost of the newly-established Federal College of Education, Iwo, in Osun state.

Adebayo is the Deputy Chief Imam of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN).

Alhaji Liadi Tella, a former Lecturer with the Department of Mass Communication and Senior Research Fellow, was appointed Chairman of the Governing Council.

This was announced by the institution’s bulletin.

The President Muhammadu Buhari administration recently approved the establishment of six Federal Colleges of Education in all geo-political zones in Nigeria
