The Encourage Science Initiative (ESI) is proud to announce the launch of its inaugural Undergraduate Research Grant, a transformative opportunity for final-year science students across Nigerian universities.

Who Is Eligible?
The ESI Undergraduate Research Grant is open to students who meet the following criteria:

-  Must be currently enrolled in a recognized Nigerian university.

- Applicants must be in the final year of their undergraduate studies.

- Must be pursuing a degree in the *biological or physical sciences

- Research projects must have commenced or be scheduled to begin between September 2025 and February 2026

Documentation:
A personal statement (maximum 200 words) detailing the applicant’s motivation and intended use of the grant (up to ₦100,000).

  - A supervisor’s supporting statement (maximum 200 words) endorsing the project and the applicant’s readiness.

Grant Value and Purpose
Successful applicants will receive up to ₦100,000, with a maximum of ₦50,000 allocated specifically for consumables required during the research process. This financial support is intended to ease the burden of purchasing essential materials and to encourage high-quality scientific output.
