The Bauchi State Ministry of Education has officially flagged off the registration exercise for the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and the Basic Arabic and Islamic Certificate Examination (BAICE).

Under the leadership of the Honourable Commissioner, Alhaji Abdulkadir Ibrahim (Chikasoro Bauchi), the Ministry informed all principals of public and private junior secondary schools across the state that the registration portal is now open.

• Closing Date: April 30, 2026

The Ministry has released a standardized fee schedule to ensure transparency and affordability for all students. The approved rates are as follows:

Public Schools: Candidates are required to pay a registration fee of N2,000.00.

Private Schools: Candidates are required to pay a registration fee of N3,000.00.

The Ministry issued a stern warning to parents, guardians, and school administrators regarding the payment process. Parents are advised that no child in a public school should be charged more than the approved N2,000.00 fee.

"All school heads and managers are directed to strictly comply with this approved fee structure. Any school found violating this directive will be sanctioned accordingly," the statement noted.

Principals are urged to ensure all eligible candidates are registered within the stipulated timeframe to avoid disqualification.
