The Baptist College of Theology, located in T Obinze-Owerri, is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Registrar. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to join our esteemed institution and contribute to the College's growth and development.

THE POSITION OF THE REGISTRAR:

The Registrar is a Principal Officer and the Chief Administrative Officer of the College. He/She is responsible to the Rector for the day-to-day administration of the College. The Registrar is the Secretary to the Governing Council.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A person vying for the position of Registrar shall meet the following criteria:

1. A Christian who is visionary and innovative, with exemplary leadership and good communication skills.

2. Candidate must possess a good Honours Degree from any recognized University/Seminary. In addition,

3. Candidate must have a minimum of fifteen (15) years post-qualification experience in Management, preferably in College/Seminary/University.

4. He/She must be digitally compliant, up to date in the use of information and communication technology, and knowledgeable in automation of Registry operations.

5. He/She must be in excellent physical and mental health and be between 40 and 55 years of age as of the time of assumption of duty.

TERMSAND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

The registrar shall hold office for a term of three (3) renewable upon satisfactory performance of the first term. The Registrar shall hold office on such terms and conditions as may be specified in the appointment letter.

1. Prepare and implement annual budgets for the institution.

2. Ensure accurate financial records are maintained.

3. Oversee all financial transactions and payments.

4. Provide financial advice and guidance to the Rector

5. Manage the institution's investment portfolio.

6. Prepare and present financial reports to the Governing Council.

7. Develop and implement financial policies and procedures.

8. Manage the payroll and benefits administration.

9. Collaborate with auditors and regulatory agencies.

10. Supervise the finance team and provide leadership and support.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. A good honor degree or HND (or its equivalent) in Accounting or a related discipline.

2. Recognized professional Accounting qualifications like ACCA, ACA, CPA, etc.

3. Higher degree and pastoral training would be an advantage.

4. Minimum of fifteen (15) years post-qualification cognate experience

5. Minimum of Five (5) years in a Senior Management Position.

6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

7. Proficiency in computer skills, including experience with accounting software.

c) Possession of at least a Diploma in theological education from a recognized institution plus

d) Possession of a Ph.D. in Librarianship/Information Science from a recognized University will be an advantage

e) Adequate professional experience after twelve years

f) Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues at all levels

g) Proficiency in computer skills, including experience with library management software
