No fewer than 30 female students and teachers have been abducted in yet another attack by armed bandits at the Federal Government Girls College, Birnin Yauri in Kebbi State.

The bandits were said to have stormed the school riding on motorcycles from the neighboring Rijau forest in the early hours of Thursday morning. They reportedly overpowered the mobile policemen guarding the school killing one of the security operatives.

Yusuf Tanko Sununu, a lawmaker representing Ngaski/Shanga/Yauri Federal Constituency of Kebbi State at the House of Representatives has confirmed the abductions of students and teachers. Sununu who noted that the number of students and teachers abducted is yet to be confirmed while addressing newsmen at the national assembly appealed to the federal government to ensure that those abducted are rescued.
