Students of Ajayi Crowther University, monday, burnt down the Accounting and Economics department, part of the health care centre and also pulled down the fence of the institution while engaging in a violent protest.

The protest was said to have begun when a 300 Level Student of the school, Elvis Abu Paul, aged 22, died in the health care facility run by the management of the school. They were protesting what they termed as "total carelessness" by the school authorities in handling Elvis' critical condition, which further resulted to his death.

To prevent further break down of law and order, the school authorities has immediately shutdown the school and dispatched armed policemen to quickly check the situation and restore peace to the institution.

It should be noted that in the past 7 years since the institution was established, this was the 1st time such a law breakdown will occur.

For now, the school has been closed indefinitely.
