Recall that on 9th January 2021 the President of Ahmadu Bello University Students Representative Council (ABUSRC) Comrade Abubakar Ali Sadeeq constituted a five (5) men committee to negotiate with the house owners and agents and find a soft ground.

The committee had a series of meetings and discussions with the agent association on the mandate in an attempt to reach a friendly agreement.

During the final meeting, dignitries like Alhaji Dauda A. Abubakar (Sarkin Samaru), Alhaji Shehu Musa Sarki (Sarkin Hayin Dogo), Abubakar Kabir Security (Division Representative), Alhaji Sambawa (Secretary Agents Association) were all in attendance.

There was no definite agreement between the parties but most of the house rent gents agreed to make reduction based on their ability. Here are the agreements reached:

1. The agents agreed to slash some amounts from the normal amount being paid

2. Some however agreed to add a certain number of months to students after agreement.

3. Students are advised to call their agents in request of the favor as promised.

4. Trust apartment instantly reduced 60 thousand Naira from their normal rent fee.

On this vein, we urge the students to bear with the situation and to understand hat SRC has been trying to make things much easier for them on both campuses despite the callenges.
