For the avoidance of doubt, the document now in public space was not signed and could not have been released by the University Management. A close look would also reveal that the memo was not addressed to students but to the Acting Vice Chancellor who did not in any way confirm the approval or otherwise of the increases. It remains the desire of Management to engage well-meaning representatives of students in the days ahead to work out feasible and acceptable adjustments in hostel accommodation fees which have become expedient.
