The Kano State Government has vowed to establish three additional universities before the end of 2012 with a view to widening the academic space.

The secretary to the State Government,Dr Rabiu Suleiman Bichi disclosed this during the investiture of the newly elected executive members of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors,Kano State Chapter.

Bichi said the setting up of the universities became imperative in the face of demands by indigenes of the state seeking admission into institutions of higher learning across the country.He also explained that construction works of the North West University, Kano, has already commenced, promising that by September, 2012, admission would be offered to prospective students.
