Atomic Structure and Bonding - PART 2
In this video lesson, we explored the fundamentals of a periodic table, the trends in the properties of the elements as well as the different Chemical bonding that exist between molecules and compounds.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of this video lesson, the learners should be able to:
- Explain what a periodic table is, - state the modern periodic law,
- Draw the periodic table for the first twenty elements,
- State the names Group I,II,VII & O elements are called,
- Define the following properties: atomic/ionic radii, electron affinity, electronegativity, and ionization energy,
- Explain the trends in the properties down the groups and across the periods,
- Explain chemical bonding,
- Enumerate and explain the types of chemical bonding we have and
- State the characteristics of the different types of chemical bonds.
