Pls u guys should know that there is difference between string and spring
spring vibration is longitudinal while string is transvere, so myschool is very cprrect.

Vibration in string is transverse and stationary.but since sound requires a medium its also can be mechanical.but only traverse waves(electromagnetic waves) can be plane polarious.the options are tricky.good question@myschool
