E1= Fe/2
0.16 = 200×e1/2
0.32 = 200e1
e1 = 0.32/200 = 0.0016. we have gotten extension for the first body.
We know that weight or force of the body is directly proportional to extension.
W1/e1 = W2/e2
200/0.0016 = 700/e2
Cross multiply
1.12 = 200e2
e2 = 1.12/200 = 0.0056
Use energy formula.
E2= Fe/2
E2 = 700×0.0056/2
E2 = 1.96j option C
