so,
W=MGH
=0.003*10*240
=7.2 kJ

Myschool is actually wrong because if you are using 9.8ms2 as the acceleration due to gravity, your calculation will be
3.0 x 9.8 x 240 = 7.1kj. But you have to approximate 9.8 to 10 ms2
3.0 x 10 x 240 = 7.2kj.
