Total Emf of the battery is 24V and the resistance across the last resistor is 14V
That can only mean that the parallel connection combined caused a voltage drop of 24 -14 = 10
Hence, we can conclude that the voltage across just Q has to be less than 10
Therefore, the only possivle correct answer is 5

I think during parallel connection the emf/potential difference is the same.Correct me if I'm wrong.

thats it the workings is correct just that it 24 -14 and not 4 - 14 like they stated
