From
M=Vh/Uh
Or
M=Vd/Ud
Hence
Vh/Uh=Vd/Ud
Where
Vh= image height
Uh= object height
Vd= image distance
Ud= object distance
From the question
Ud=ยฝ
Vd=1
Uh=1
Vh=?
From
Vh/Uh=Vd/Ud
Vh/1=1/ยฝ
Vh= 1/ยฝ
Vh= 1*2/1
Vh= 2

nah, u re wrong. you did not jxt halve the object distance, but u equally halved d product of d object distance and d magnification. And Magnification is not a constant CUs it varies as d comes near or farther.
the image of an object on a screen in a pinhole camera is real and inverted . if the object is brought closer,u get an enlarged image on d screen.
so also,wen d object distance is halved... for instance d object was 10cm away from d pinhole, and was later halved. d new distance is now 5cm. So d image will be double ..

you don't need to calculate this when you come closer to the pin hole by half, its get doubled, it's an inverse proportion, it would be quadruped if there is squar

let us pretend as if we re dullards and HV a at what MARCe made up..
Apparently to Marce, V= MU
where M = magnification
v= image dist.
U= object dist.
halving U, we have..
V= MU/2
so V= MU/2, then,
MU= 2V
which is d required ansa.

I'm f**king confused here. Myschool said itโs doubled, while ChatGpt said it's halved!

Here is an explanation:
Marce says;
Correct answer is B.. Based on logistics from my calculations.. M=V/U.. Where m=magnification, v=image distance, u= object distance..Making v subject of formula.. V=MรU=MU.. Therefore halving the object distance.. V=MU/2..THEREFORE V(image distance) will be halved..

The size of the image formed by a pinhole camera is directly related to the distance between the object and the pinhole. The formula for the size of the image in a pinhole camera is given by the equation:
Size of Image=Size of Object รDistance to Image Plane/Distance to Object
If the distance between the object and the pinhole of a pinhole camera is reduced by half, then the new distance to the object becomes half of the original distance. Let's denote the original distance to the object as D, and the new distance as D / 2
Using the formula above, the size of the image in the new situation becomes:
Size of Image (New)= Size of ObjectรDistance to Image Plane / D/2
Size of Image (New)=2ร Size of ObjectรDistance to Image Plane / D
โ
Since the numerator remains the same (size of object times distance to image plane), and the denominator is halved, the size of the image in the new situation will be doubled. Therefore, the correct answer is:
D. Is double

Correct answer is C.. Based on logistics from my calculations.. M=V/U.. Where m=magnification, v=image distance, u= object distance..Making v subject of formula.. V=MรU=MU.. Therefore halving the object distance.. V=MU/2..THEREFORE V(image distance) will be halved..

the ans should be C.no matter the distance of the object the image sharpness remains thesame

The simple answer is the image distance is inversely proportional to object distance for a given pin-hole camera.
Therefore as one increases the other decreases.
