use energy in inductor= ½LI², where L = inductor, I = current

E = 0.5Li²

E = 0.5(0.5)(3)²

E = 0.25(9)

E = 2.25 J

E = 0.5LI
where E=energy
L=Inductance
I=Current
E = 0.5(0.5)(3) = 0.5x0.5x3 = 2.25J

he meant that ..energy stored =1/2 of the inductor which is L mutily by square of the current i..
