Let me explain. The resultant force is 10N so to get the force that will stop it moving eastward will be F1 = Fcosø, F is the resultant. So we have F1= 10cos(60)= 10×0.5 = 5N so since the force was pull from the West to stop it moving eastward, then it is 5N in the direction of West.
