in parallel connection "V" is constant so the emf of the batteries will be 2v and not 4v.Then the resistance is gotten by parallel method first;
1/Rtotal= 1/2 + 1/2=1
then serially; 1+ 4 = 5
therefore the total current of the circuit=
V/Rtotal= 2/5 = 0.4A or 0.40A

@myschool the option chosen is very correct
the total internal resistance is 1 ,total resistance in circuit is 4+1=5ohms
v=I(r+R)
2=I5
I=2/5
I=0.4A

Rt=R1R2/R1+R2
R=2ohms×2ohms/2ohms+2ohms
R=1ohms
R=1+4=5ohms
V=IR
I=V/R
2/5
=0.4A
