diffusion is the movement of molecules from a region of higher conc to a region of lower conc..while osmosis is process by which molecules of a solvent tend to pass through a semipermeable membrane from a less concentrated solution into a more concentrated one..please review the question..

The ans is osmosis. Osmosis has to do with semipermeable membrane. But the question wasn't asked properly.

Osmosis is defined as the flow of water/solvent molecules through a semipermeable membrane from a region of low to high solute concentration, until equilibrium is established.
From a region of low to high solute conc is same as from high to low solvent potential.
the answer is B
