The answer is option D, and heating it in a closed container will only make d internal pressure of d system to increase above atmospheric pressure, and dis leads to lower bp as d water boils even faster... So, i suppose d right answer is option D.

Boiling point elevation describes the phenomenon that boiling point of a liquid (solvent) will be higher when another compound is added.meaning that solution has a higher boiling point than a pure solvent. This happens whenever a non-volatile solute, such as a salt is added to a pure solvent such a water

No! The ans is 'ii&iii' bcos boiling point increases with pressure(i.e wen heated in a closed container) and also increases with impurities.

pure water will boil at 100 centigrade..... either you confined it without let the gas escape.... or you heat it with stove or cooking gas or in the oven.....the only thing that increase the boiling point is presence of impurities ...*hence presence of salt.......D is the correct answer

The correct answer is C because factors that elevates a boilng point of a water are
(1)The increase in pressure which is now heating in a sealed flask.
(2) The presence of impurity which is the dissolved salt

Contrary to what most believe, increase in pressure raises the boiling point of a liquid. Check new school physics page 230 or even the internet. impurities and pressure increase a liquid's boiling point.

Myschool.com...the answer is D...pls give explanations to prove that your answer is correct

I think the right answer Is D the option A given I.e altitude and height decreases the boiling point of water

The correct and accurate answer to the question is option D. Impurities increases the boiling point of a pure water. Therefore salt is an impurity to a pure water.
