These people made a mistake its supposed to be R1R2/R1+R2 as you have two resistors connected in parallel so you have
R1R2/R1+R2
6*4/6+4
24/10=2.4
then solve for resistors in series
R=R1+R2............
R=2.4+10=12.4
But V=IR so
12=12.4I
I=12/12.4
I=0.97 amps
