its a gas thermometer
the formula to use is
¥° = p¥° - p0°\p100° - p0° × 100
¥° = 380-440/680-440 × 100
¥° = -60/240 × 100
¥° = -0.25×100 = -25

The selected answer is wrong:
380-440/680-440=x/100
=-60/240=x/100
x=-60*100/240
x=-25

The answer is 20 not -25
Bcos
t - 0 / 100 - 0 = 440 - 380 / 680 - 380
t/100 = 60/300
= 20 °C

The denominator of the answer reads (680-380), this cannot give the answer (which is correct), it is to be 680-440 as to correlate with the 100 - 0 on the Celsius part of the solution (RHS)

20 is the ans my school correct this instantly this is how it should be oooo
440- 380/ 680-380 = x - 0 / 100 -0
60/ 300 = x /100
x = 6000/ 300 = 20
