to double F
since F and T are related by

F₁=F
F₂=2F
T₁=T
T₂=?
F/2F=√T/√T₂
make T₂ subject of the formula

√T₂=(2F√T)/F
F cancels F

√T₂=2√T
square both sides
T₂=4T

which means that multiplying tenstion by 4 will make frequency double
