Alpha particle is an Helium nuclei (He) with a mass number of 4 and an atomic number of 2.

Mass number of nuclide X
4 + 14 = p + 2
18 = p + 2
p = 18 - 2 = 16

Atomic number of nuclide X
2 + 7 = q + 1
9 = q + 1
q = 9 - 1
q = 8
