na lie
what is all this!!! ??
please i strongly disagree with this answer ie.option B..the correct answer is C
FOR PROOF CHECK YOUR ABABIO-(CHEMISTRY)CHAPTER 5
on quote''we know that matter is made of tiny particles.........the kinetic theory of matter postulates that these particles are constantly moving and so possess kinetic energy....'''
even logically how can you say that molecules of a gas and solids are of the same size>???
please i hope u guys look into this and take correction
tnx

REF: CHECK NEW SCHOOL CHEMISTRY(BY ABABIO)PAGE 71 CHAPTER 5

I don't think the answer is C
The kinetic theory of matter is a theory meant for molecules of matter that possess movement which is molecules of gases
Molecules of matter present In a solid are in a fixed position, they can't move
I think the answer is B because if we take water for an example the molecules of water at molecular level in a solid (ice), liquid (water), gas(steam) all have the same size
They don't change

A. All the three have fixed volume
Nope!
Solids — yes, fixed volume
Liquids — yes, fixed volume
Gases — 𝙉𝙊, they expand to fill any container.
So A is wrong
B. Their molecules have the same size
Omo this one na trick!
The size of molecules 𝙙𝙚𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙨 on the substance, 𝙉𝙊𝙏 the state of matter.
Water molecule vs oxygen molecule — different sizes.
So B is also wrong
C. Their molecules are always in motion
YESSS!
Even in solids, molecules 𝙫𝙞𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚 in place
In liquids, they slide past each other
In gases, they zoom around freely
So molecular motion dey happen in ALL three states — just that the speed and pattern of movement na different.
So C is correct

D. All the three have the same intermolecular forces
Nah fam!
Solids have strong intermolecular forces
Liquids have moderate forces
Gases? Weak or almost none
So this one no follow.
C. Their molecules are always in motion

for those of you wondering why rhe the answer is c, particles of solid vibrate constantly,so is vibration a type of motion or not

myschool does that mean a molecule of starch and a molecule of hydrogen have the same size?
