A few grains of table salt were put in a cup of water, kept at constant temperature and left undisturbed. Eventually all the water tasted salty. The action is due to
convection
osmosis
capillarity
diffusion

yeah de anser is diffusion,ie diffusion in liquid. Diffusion is th movement of a substance from a region of higher concentration to a region of lower concentration. Note: in osmosis a semi permeable membrane is needed, nd its from a region of lower concentration to higher concentration. ans:diffusion

at first the salt will be concentrated at the top of the water then will then spread round the liquid after a while

i think it is diffusion because diffusion in liquids is the random movement of molecules from an area of low concentration driven by the random thermal motion of the molecules.Eg;when sugar molecules diffuse throughout the water , making the entire solution sweet.

diffusion is correct answer because it is the movement of water molecules from the region of higher concentration to the region of lower concentration until they are evenly distributed, while osmosis is the movement of water or gaseous molecules from the region of lower concentration to the region of higher concentration through a semi permeable membrane
