Accordong to my own understanding, when you drop an ice cube in a cup of water filled to the brim, the ice cube creates a hole/space/vaccum in the water, thereby where water is suppose to be there is an ice cube.
so when the ice cube melts it forms back the water that was suppose to be there,so the water level still remains the same.

So this people don't know the principle of flirtation which state that when a body floats. It displaces equal volume and mass of its own volume and mass... So as the Ice floats it have already displaced a volume equal to its own so that when it melts. Not change in volume will occur... Answer is A

Answer is D because ice has a lower density than water but it expands when it freezes leading to a higher volume. But the mass is constant. on melting, the density increases thereby leading to decrease in volume.

We all know that water is denser that ice and density is the product of mass divided by volume. Then why will ice occupy the same volume it did when it melts to water.
