pls confirm your answer, am not sure of the correct ans, but atoms are definitely destructable, what happened to radioactivity? the ans is most probably C

The answer is not D its C
becaude atom are destructible/divisible into protons and neutrons

C is correct✅

We're not referring to Dalton's theory here... As four of his five theories were disproved

D is correct
Now let's do a critical analysis of the question.

First, we shouldn't forget that this is physics not chemistry

option A is correct based on Democritus experiment with yam

option B is correct: For instance an oxygen atom is chemically identical to other atoms of Oxygen provided both are in their pure state

option C is obviously correct as the RAM of Oxygen (16) is different from that of Cl (35.5)

option E: A and B have been proved correct

Therefore option D is the correct answer

atoms are not only destroyed by radioactivity but also by bombs so the answer is C

C

Does Dalton's atomic theory still hold????
A and B is clearly from his theory which have been modified, I believe the answer is C or better still no answer

This question is testing Dalton’s Atomic Theory (the classical one used in WAEC/NECO), not modern nuclear physics. That detail matters a lot 👀

Let’s check each statement as Dalton meant it:

A️⃣ Atoms are indestructible

✔️ True (according to Dalton)
He said atoms cannot be created or destroyed in chemical reactions.

B️⃣ All atoms of a pure substance (element) are identical

✔️ True (Dalton’s view)
Isotopes were not known then, so this was accepted.

C️⃣ Atoms of different substances have different weights

✔️ True
Different elements have different atomic masses.

Final decision

Since A, B, and C are all true under Dalton’s atomic theory:

✅ Correct answer: D — all of the above

I also believe atoms are destructible so how can the asnwee be D?

I think in d case of radioactivity atoms are not destroyed they r simply broken down so i think d abswer is actually D
