since in parallel combination

votage is equal

then we can pick one out of the 4 - 6 ohm resistors
to find the current

V= IR

24 = I ×6

I = 4 A

even though you want to find the effective resistance it will still give same ans

1/R = 1/6 + 1/6 + 1/6 + 1/6

1/R = 4/6

1/R = 2/3

R = 3/2 ohm

recall in parallel combination the effective voltage is also equal to the voltage that pass through each resistor

V = IR

24 = I × 3/2

8 = I ×1/2

I = 16A

since each resistor has equal resistant of 6 ohm

then we can say each current is 16/4 = 4A

That solution is vague!
.

Solution.
effective reactance =
1/R(eff) = 1/6+1/6+1/6+1/6 = 4/6
R(eff) = 6/4 = 3/2 = 1.5 ohms

Total current in the circuit
I = V/R(eff)
I = 24/1.5
I= 16A.
.
To find current in each resistor.
V=IR (since p.d across the resistors in parallel is equal)
V= 16×6 = 96V.
.
Current in one 6-ohms resistor = current in others 6-ohms resistors.

I = V/ R = 96/6 = 16A.

This question is similar to a question in 1978 jamb very dicey.

c is correct pls

the answer is actually 4 if you got 16 know that you calculated for total current and not individual current. in parallel connection the net current is lT =1l + 2l +3l +4l substituting
lT =4+4+4+4=16 so the total current us 16 and the individual current is 4

hello, lemme help u put
since jamb said the current in each resistor. for parallel arrangement we know that same current does not flow.
buh in this case the resistors are identical, so the total current is 12/6 = 4A.
Therefore the current in each 4ohm resistor is 4/4 = 1A.

The question stated clearly that the resistors are in parallel. So then why should still use 6 ohms instead of 3/2 ohms

they said four 6 ohms is you calculate the answer is 16

attention 🔊 FOR EACH RESISTOR, that's what the question says in case you read questions so fast

The answer U gave is not collect because we asked the current in each resistor

My school the correct answer is C 16 A not 4 A ✅😕
According to my own understanding and solving...
P.d is applied across a parallel combination of four 6 ohms resistors.
Which means, four parallel resistor = 1/6+1/6+1/6+1/6 = LCM = 6
1+1+1+1+1/6 = 4/6 = R = 1.5
P.d (V) = current (I) × resistance (R)
But the question says we should find current (I)
Current= V/R = 24/1.5 = 16 A ✅🙃
