One of two identical tuning forks with natural frequency 256Hz, one is loaded so that 4 beats per second are heard when they are sounded together. What is the frequency of the loaded tuning fork?

The answer is B.
Beat frequency, F = F2 - F1
Both have a natural frequency of 256Hz and one was loaded to produce 4Hz beat.
We can have 4= 256 - F
F= 256 - 4= 252
OR
4= F - 256
F= 260
But obviously, a loaded Turning fork should vibrate at a lower frequency not higher, since frequency is inversely proportional to √mass. Hence 252Hz is the answer.

The software version has the answer to be 260Hz so why 252 here, which one should I follow abeg help for a brother

I think there is a mistake in this question, the two tuning forks can't be loaded one has to be unloaded
The question said of 2 tuning forks, one is loaded with 4 beats per second, the question still said find the "loaded" tuning fork
Instead of find the unloaded tuning fork
