Which of the following statements are true about the spring balance and the chemical balance? i. both are used to measure the mass of an object. ii. either of them may be used to measure the weight of an object. iii. the spring balance works on the principle of Hooke's law while the chemical balance works on the principle of moments. iv. a change in gravity does the readings of a spring balance but not that of a chemical balance.

Jamb did not properly set the question
III and IV are very much correct but there is no option putting III and IV together
Gravity affect spring balance
While gravity does not affect chemical balance
Weight = spring balnce
Mass= chemical balance

The correct answer i THINK is B because the spring balance i Know uses the principle of Hooks law why chemical balance works on the principle of Moments... So III must be included...

If u check ur new school physics chapter 1 page 8 under the sub heading of "different types of balance", u will see where it is written that beam balance works on the principle of moments then the next page says that spring works on the principle of hookes law so C and D are correct
myschool please make an amend we confusing us

myschool I think this options are wrong
the answer is iii and Iv
but it's not In the options

The ansa is wrng,,,,,,none of d right option is correct,,,the right option is (III and Iv),,,,,,chemical balance is mainly used for measuring mass while spring balance is mainly used for measuring weight,,,,,
